Эти изменения формируют новое отношение героя к окружающей действительности и формируют реалистичный взгляд на мир. Поуэлл проводит параллель между армейской атмосферой и мифологической иерархией. Английская светская жизнь в военное время показана автором со свойственной откровенностью и художественным мастерством.

The article ЇInterpretation of Army Life in the «War Trilogy» by Anthony Powell? considers the changes in the world outlook of a character-narrator occurred over a period of three novels. These changes form a different attitude of the character to reality and develop a realistic conception of the world. Powell draws a parallel between the army atmosphere and mythological hierarchy. The English social life in the wartime is represented by the author with peculiar confidence and artistic skill.
