The author researches the question of methods for evaluation indirect expression in the American press discourse, states that evaluation may be indirectly expressed in the context of speech acts aimed at the expression of advice, prohibition, message, shows that in case of evaluation indirect expression the intention (illocution) of evaluation is expressed implicitly and requires some interpretive efforts from the recipient, and conducts the research by the material of the American nationwide daily newspapers publications for the period of 2010-2013.
